Methodology

Figures are from ATO Taxation Statistics 2023–24, Individuals tables 14A (by occupation, sex and taxable income), 14B (trend), 15B (income) and 18B (claim ranges), for people who listed their occupation as Electronic equipment trades worker (ATO occupation code 3423). The ATO publishes claim ranges for occupation groups only, so the claim-range chart covers everyone in Electrotechnology and telecommunications trades workers (group 34).

Averages are per claimant: total work-related deductions divided by the number of people who claimed them. 27,990 people with this occupation lodged a return. Where the ATO hides a figure because too few people are involved, we show "not published" and never estimate it. Where the ATO combines small groups across income ranges to protect privacy, only the combined figure is shown. Claim ranges are the ATO's ranges, not exact percentiles.

The refund estimate applies 2025–26 resident tax rates to the figures you type. It is an estimate, not advice, and assumes you were an Australian resident for the full year.
